Grace Kelly Performing at ICA in Boston on Thursday, August 25


Saxophonist Grace Kelly is performing a free concert at the Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston's Seaport District on Thursday, August 25, 2001 from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m.

The concert is part of the ICA's HarborWalk Sounds series, sponsored by Berklee College of Music,  taking place Thursday nights throughout the summer. 

Kelly is a rising start in the jazz world and has performed around the world with notable jazz figures like Phil Woods, Wynton Marsalis and others.

Jazz Pianist Brad Mehldau Performs at Tanglewood on Thursday, August 25



Acclaimed jazz pianist Brad Mehldau is performing at Tanglewood in Lenox Massachusetts on Thursday, August 25, 2011 at 8:00 p.m. in Seiji Ozawa Hall.

Tickets to the concert $18-$52 and can be ordered online or purchased at the gate.

From acclaim as a bandleader to collaborations with Pat Metheny, Renée Fleming, and Joshua Redman, Brad Mehldau continues to garner numerous awards and admiration from both jazz purists and music enthusiasts alike. 

Other upcoming events at Tanglewood include a production of Gershwin's Porgy and Bess on Friday, August 26, and the Tanglewood Jazz Festival on September 2-4, 2011.

Jazz Singer Samantha Farrell Performing at BOND Lounge in Boston on Wednesday, August 24




Rising star Samantha Farrell has a return engagement at BOND Lounge at Boston Langham Hotel on Wednesday, August 24, 2011 from 7:00 - 10:00 p.m.

The singer/songwriter, originally from Boston and now living in Los Angeles, has been described by Ben Evans of the Huffington Post as possessing "a liquor-honey voice, deft guitar work and slightly melancholic tones that meld to form an arching and elegant aural tapestry."

Samantha's show is part of the new BOND Jazz Experiment that features upcoming and established jazz artists on Wednesday nights.  A special menu is available.  For reservations, call 617 956-8765.

A Jazz Happening at Jacob's Pillow Dance on Sunday, August 21


The fifth anniversary of A Jazz Happening, a dazzling one-night jazz celebration featuring students alongside Broadway stars, is taking place on Sunday, August 2011, at 8:00 p.m. in the Ted Shaw Theatre at Jacob's Pillow in Becket, MA.

Directed by veteran Broadway producer Chet Walker, A Jazz Happening features original choreography by leading artists.  Tickets are $75 for the performance, or $100 for performance, premium seating and reception with the dancers, and can be purchased online.

Earlier this year, Jacob's Pillow was awarded a National Medal of Arts by President Barack Obama at a White House ceremony, in recognition of the institution's role as one of America's most cherished cultural groups.
