Tanglewood Jazz Festival Takes Place on Labor Day Weekend, September 2-4

The annual Tanglewood Jazz Festival in Lenox, Massachusetts is taking place this weekend, September 2-4, 2011, featuring an all-star line-up of great jazz musicians.

Among the performances:

Robin McKelle Quartet & Michael Kaeshammer Quintet

Angelique Kidjo, Dianne Reeves and Lizz Wright, 

Judy Carmichael's Jazz Inspired, 

Coast to Coast Septet featuring NEA Jazz Master Jimmy Cobb featuring Mary Stallings and the Mingus Orchestra featuring NEA Jazz Master Gunther Schuller, 

and Latin Jazz Tribute to Cachao with the John Santos Sextet and the Federico Britos Sextet.

In addition, there is a series of performances at the Jazz Cafe throughout the weekend; these are free with tickets to the main stage event or with all-day passes.  For ticket information click here.
