The Makanda Project, dedicated to the compositions of Boston musician Makanda Ken McIntyre, is performing at the Dudley Branch of the Boston Public Library on Friday, November 30, 2012 from 7:00 to 9:30 p.m. Jazz trumpeter Eddie Allen is the featured artist.

The band includes Eddie Allen and Kurtis Rivers, Arni Cheatham, Lance Bryant and Charlie Kohlhase on the saxophones; Eddie Allen and Jerry Sabatini on the trumpets; Bill Lowe and Robert Stringer on the trombones; Diane Richardson performing the vocals; John Kordalewski on piano; John Lockwood on bass and Yoron Israel on drums.
McIntyre was a gifted musician and educator who composed over 400 pieces of music in his life. The Makanda Project continues the legacy of Makanda through live concerts and educational programs.
